Spray Tanning Salon in Sydney Northern Beaches

What is a Spray Tan? What Will It Do For Me?

A professionally applied spray tan delivers a beautiful, natural-looking, sun-kissed colour – and without any of the UV exposure, skin damage, and skin cancer risk that comes from tanning outdoors in the harsh Australian sun.

The active ingredient in spray tanning solution, DHA, reacts with the amino acids in the outermost layer of your skin to produce a bronzed appearance. This lovely golden tone develops over several hours and lasts for around a week to ten days, fading gradually and evenly as your skin cells naturally turn over and shed off.

At Pure Beauty, our spray tans are applied by hand rather than in a booth, allowing Diana to control the coverage, depth, and finish with a precision that automated systems simply can't match.

What Should I Expect When Getting a Spray Tan?

Before your appointment, exfoliate thoroughly and arrive with clean, dry skin free of moisturiser, perfume, and deodorant. These can create a barrier that affects how evenly the solution develops.

Diana will discuss your preferred depth of colour before she begins, whether you're after a subtle warmth or something deeper and more defined. The application itself takes around 30 minutes. Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment and avoid showering, sweating, or getting wet for at least eight hours afterwards to allow the tan to develop fully.

Who Is Spray Tanning Suitable For?

Spray tanning suits most skin tones and types. DHA is a well-tolerated ingredient for the majority of people, though those with very sensitive skin or known skin conditions should mention this to Diana beforehand. Results vary slightly depending on your natural skin tone and how well you've prepared your skin, which is why the pre-tan exfoliation step makes such a noticeable difference to the finished result.
